2001 Missing Persons 1.8%

Counting population at Census time always misses out a few. The ABS has today reported that 1.8% of Australia's population was missed by "undercount" at the 2001 Census. This compares to an undercount of 1.6% in 1996. The actual population on 7 August 2001 was 19,445,600 rather than 18,972,400 as enumerated by the Census.

Which brings us ot the big question when will 20 million Australians be reached? Findem estimates that 20,000,000 will be reached on 20 December 2003.
