20 million on December 4
After earlier estimates by FinDem that the date would be December 12, The Australian Bureau of Statistics (www.abs.gov.au) has now announced that Australia's official population is estimated to reach 20 million on December 4, 2003. The official estimate of December 4 takes into account all the information that the ABS have available from births, deaths, overseas arrivals and departures and the 2001 Population Census.
