WRITERS: Deirdre Macken
Deirdre Macken writes a feature article (around page 25 usually) in the weekend Australian Financial Review (www.afr.com.au)which often covers topics about people, finance and social and family trends. Ms Macken has been a columnist and senior writer for the Australian Financial Review since 1999. Her experience with the Fairfax press dates back to 1981 having been a correspondent for the both the Melbourne Age and the Sydney Morning Herald. In 2002 she won the European Union Journalist Award to study urban and regional rejuvenation in the European Union and the effect this might have on the self-perceptions of people as citizens of a united Europe.
