ACADEMICS: Suzanne M. Bianchi

Suzanne M. Bianchi received her Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Michigan (1978) and is currently Professor of Sociology at the University of Maryland. She is a former Director of the Maryland Population Research Center. She is also an Affiliate Faculty member of the Joint Program in Survey Methodology, the Womens' Studies Department, and the School of Public Affairs. Prior to joining the Maryland faculty in 1994, she served as Assistant Chief for Social and Demographic Statistics in the Population Division of the U.S. Bureau of the Census.
