ACADEMICS: Professor Ann Harding
Ann Harding joined the National Centre for Social amd Economic Modelling http://www.natsem.canberra.edu.au/ as the inaugural Director in January 1993. Prior to this, she undertook policy work in the Departments of Social Security, Treasury, the Parliamentary Research Service and Health, Housing and Community Services. She also spent three years at the London School of Economics (LSE) examining the distributional impact of government over the lifetime.
Ann is Professor of Applied Economics and Social Policy at the University of Canberra, and her main research interests are income distribution and using microdata and microsimulation to analyse the impact of social and economic policy.
Ann has a Bachelor of Economics (Honours) degree from the University of Sydney and a PhD from the LSE. In 1996 she was elected a Fellow of the Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia.
