WRITERS: Jill and Owen Weeks
Jill and Owen Weeks are best know for their landmark book 'Where to Retire In Australia' (see http://www.findem.com.au/resources/displayResourcesArticle.php?id=80) first published in 2000 and now in a second edition published in 2005. This book is used extensively by local retirees and advisers and also expatriates and potential immigrants. They are also joint authors of 'Retire Bizzi' published in 2001 which deals with starting a business in retirement.
Owen Weeks has been an accountant and financial planner for over 25 years. He is a Director of Melbourne based financial planning firm, Lifestyle Matters. Owen has a Commerce degree from Melbourne University as well as a Diploma of Financial Planning from Deakin University. He is a Certified Financial Planner and a Member of the Financial Planning Association of Australia. He is a Fellow of the National Institute of Accountants and a registered Tax Agent. He was head of a large financial planning business for 20 years and was Victorian Chairman of the Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia (ASFA) for two years. He has spoken at conferences on Retirement Planning and Social Security issues.
Jill Weeks has an Arts Degree with a major in Psychology, a Diploma in Teaching, a Certificate in English as a Second Language, and a Diploma in Financial Planning. Having spent many years as a teacher, she turned towards financial planning several years ago. Jill is a Rotarian. Jill is a writer and frequent contributor to magazines and newspapers. Jill has written a book, '21 Ways To Retire', which is a collection of in-depth interview with people who have already retired.
