Diverse National House Prices
Over 2006 the median Sydney House price change was a 1% rise while for Perth, the median rise was 33.6%. But the big and wide city of Sydney with 4.5 million people covering 5,000 square miles, is a diverse mix. House prices in Sydney rose 5% in the wealthy eastern suburbs and fell 4% in the mortgage laden western suburbs. Prices in Perth are moderating with the December quarter rise back to 2.2%, close to the national median of 1.9%.
